Painted nails and sparkly dresses

I painted my nails the other day for the first time in a long time. It was nice and kind of relaxing to do in front of the TV.

I bought a new bottle of polish at the dollar store for the occasion along with a new emery board to file down my uneven nails.

The polish color is kind of a bluish green. It reminds me of some place tropical I’d like to go, somewhere with little beach houses in a variety of bright colors.

I debated on whether I should buy this color polish as fall is getting so close — but I’m not quite ready to let go of summer so I got the bright stuff instead.

It goes well with my “I wish I was in Florida” dress I’ve been wearing all summer. The dress is yellow and white with lots of flora and fauna on it.

The reason I dubbed the dress that name is because it reminds me of something someone would buy to go on vacation — or if you lived in Florida this would be your go-to dress.

Even though I live in Ohio that doesn’t stop me from living the Florida-life in my backyard or the front porch.

It certainly was hot enough this summer to feel like Florida, though, wasn’t it?

Thinking of fall and then winter has got me thinking about Christmas — already.

Not so much the giving and receiving but the sparkle that comes with it. I was thinking that I haven’t been to a party or a wedding in a long time that requires some kind of cute, sparkly dress or skirt.

I was telling one of my colleagues that I might just have to throw a Christmas party just so I have an excuse to buy a sparkly or sequined dress.

She noted she already has such an outfit waiting in her closet for such an occasion.

So maybe I will just have a party — or at least go out to dinner so we can wear our sparkly outfits!

Anyway, if you’ve already got a great outfit waiting in your closet, maybe it’s time to dust it off and go live a little. We deserve it, right? But as long as there are no high heels involved.
