Youth to compete at Dance Masters National

Ezra Summers dances inside the Turn It Out Dance Academy in Bellaire. He will compete in the Dance Masters of America Competition next month in Nashville.

BELLAIRE — Peyton Florence and Ezra Summers, both students at Turn It Out Dance Academy in Bellaire, will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, this July to compete in the Dance Masters of America Competition.

This comes on the heels of Florence, 16, winning the title of Miss Dance of Ohio 2022 and Summers, 11, winning the title of Junior Mister Dance of Ohio 2022 this past January in Dayton, Ohio.

Florence, daughter of Kim and Shane Florence, earned that title along with first place in talent and first place in interview. Summers, son of Lisa and Jason Summers, received his title along with first place in talent and interview, and the jazz, acro and ballet awards.

Florence has been dancing for 12 years and Summers for five. They both receive their dance instruction from Turn It Out Dance Academy.

“This will be Ezra’s first trip to the Dance Master’s national stage and Peyton’s second after winning the title of Junior Miss Dance of Ohio in 2016,” said Mandy Doyle, who owns the academy. “I am very proud of both these dancers’ dedication and training as they strive to bring home a national title.”
