Historical society to host painting and tea party

Photo provided On Aug. 27, the Belmont County Historical Society will host a Painting & Tea Party at the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum.

BARNESVILLE — The Belmont County Historical Society will be hosting a Painting and Tea Party from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 27.

Guests will be painting a fall-themed pumpkin still life on a 16 x 20 inch canvas under the instruction of board member Kathy Messenger. In addition to the instruction, guests will be served tea and light refreshments.

The event will take place at the gazebo at the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum, located at 532 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville. The cost of the event will be $50; all materials, including canvas, will be provided.

Pre-registration and payment are required. The deadline for both is Aug. 15. Spots for this event are limited, so you are encouraged to register early. To register for the event or for additional information, you can contact Kathy at 740-425-2926.

The Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum is located on Ohio 800 in Barnesville. Completed in 1893, the museum consists of 26 rooms. This award-winning, Romanesque Revival mansion has been restored and furnished with the finest of Victorian-era pieces.
