Barnesville Summer reading program deemed a success

BARNESVILLE — The Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library congratulates the readers who participated in “Oceans of Possibilities” this summer.

The Summer Reading Program continues to be a huge success year after year, thanks to the many children and to the dedicated parents, grandparents and caregivers.

This year we saw 156 kids who actively participated in the program and read nearly 5,000 books.

The Children’s Department provided storytimes weekly at the Barnesville Park, various presenters, and special programs.

The library would also like to give a “shout out” to the young adult and adult readers who participated in activities and programs.

Highlights from the summer included: a program presented by Belmont County Farm Bureau, Ice Cream Party/Craft Day, Manatees Matter presented by Daniel Caron, water balloon the librarians, games, reading coupons and treats from Mcdonalds, Dominos, prizes, book give-a-ways, and the final parties at Chestnut Lanes and Barnesville Pool.
