The Rev. Thomas Chillog of St. Mary Catholic Church, from left, Ann Bonner, regional urban forester with the Division of Forestry, St. Clairsville Mayor Kathryn Thalman, Recreation Director Eric Gay and Jenn Johnson, member of the recreation board, join in planting a red maple tree Friday in St. Clairsville Memorial Park as part of a belated Arbor Day celebration and to mark St. Clairsville’s designation as a Tree City USA for the 24th year in a row. The red maple is native to the area. Last year, eight trees were planted, and many trees planted over the decades are thriving.
