75th annual Holloway Old Timers festival is Sept. 1-3

HOLLOWAY — The Holloway Old Timers Baseball Association is hosting its 75th annual Old Timers Festival from Sept. 1-3 featuring food, games, a car show and the annual parade in the village of Holloway.
The festival will be located at 421 East Main Street.
Games, sno-cones, cotton candy and a dunk tank will be available daily during the festival.
Hot dogs, onion rings, pepperoni rolls, french fries, nachos, soda, water and homemade baked goods will be available to purchase throughout the festival.
The kitchen will open at 11 a.m. every day. On Sept. 1, the kitchen will serve pork, beef and home-cooked beans and ham all cooked over an open fire. The kitchen will serve barbeque chicken on Sept. 2 and pork, beef, sausages sandwiches and home-cooked beans and ham on Sept. 3.
The festival kicks off at 11 a.m. Sept. 1. A flea market, vendors and a silent auction will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 1-2 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 3. The auction drawings will take place at 6 p.m.
From 6-8 p.m., the Old Timers Festival will feature karaoke and music.
Attendees can enjoy hay rides, face painting and games all afternoon on Sept. 2. A clown also will be at the event all afternoon twisting balloons for the kids.
On Sept. 2, there will be a car, truck and bike show from noon to 4 p.m. in the Holloway Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall lot across from the caboose. Registration for the car show will take place at 11 a.m., judging will take place at 3 p.m. and trophies will be awarded at 4 p.m. Judges will give out trophies for the top 10 vehicles and the fan favorite. The first 50 entries will receive dash plaques.
The vehicles will be invited to cruise through town in the Holloway Old Timers and Fireman’s Parade, which starts at 5 p.m. The parade will feature the Ohio Valley Avengers and Enchanted Princess. Lineup and registration for the parade will start at 3:30 p.m.
The night will end with karaoke and music from 6-8 p.m.
Garden tractor pulls by the Harrison County Lil Hustlers will start at 9 a.m. on Sept. 3.
The festival closes at 5 p.m. Sept. 3 with the drawing of the 50-50 raffle.
The Old Timers Festival got its start as a gathering for former railroad workers who loved to play ball, but it has since developed into an annual event that both locals and tourists enjoy.
