GLEN DALE -- Boyd and Mary Ann Engle will celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary Sept. 19. They were united in marriage at the First Presbyterian Church, Moundsville, with the Rev. Michael Flanagan officiating.
Nancy Barr Underdonk, sister of the bride and Charles D. Engle, brother of the groom, attended them. John Ashworth and Sonny Burkey were ushers.
Boyd (Dick) is the son of the late Boyd and Mae Engle. He is a graduate of Moundsville High School and West Liberty State College. He taught in Marshall County and then retired as a teacher-principal from the Martins Ferry School System. He is an Army veteran and former Prisoner of War. He is an avid trap shooter. His wife, Mary Ann, is the daughter of the late Thomas and Roberta Barr. She graduated from Moundsville High School and attended Bethany College. She is an accomplished artist and continues to teach art in Wheeling.
They have four children, Elaine (Jim) Land of Ozark, Ala., Nancy Jane (Rick) Woods of Fork Ridge, Tom (Kathy Engle) of Little Grave Creek, and Mary Lynn Engle of Glen Dale. They also have five grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
A family dinner will be held to celebrate the occasion.
