JOSEPH R. and Hazel M. Bittengle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 14. They were united in marriage at the First United Presbyterian Church in Shadyside with the Rev. William P. Arnott officiating at the ceremony.
Bittengle is the son of the late Joseph and Mary Bittengle. Hazel is the daughter of the late John Groves and Mary Cowperthwaite.
The couple celebrated with a dinner at Stratford Springs, given by their children, Joseph of Little Rock and Deanne of Shadyside. The couple has two grandsons, who both reside in Arkansas: Joseph Bittengle of Jonesboro and Adam Bittengle of Little Rock.
