ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Louis F. and Isabel L. Jagucki celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Friday, Nov. 29. They were united in marriage Nov. 29, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Neffs, by the Rev. Noah E. Brunner.
Jagucki served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korean War as engineering officer on destroyers. He received his officer's commission at the U.S. Navy Academy after graduating from Case Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from Benwood Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. after 31 years service in various engineering and operations managerial positions including plant manager. He also retired after 15 years of service from Lodais Technical Services Inc. which he founded and where, as a registered professional engineer, he did engineering consulting work for clients in the steel pipe manufacturing industry. He is a past Grand Knight and Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4243, a post commander and member of American Legion Post 77 and a retired member of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Management Association.
His wife, Isabel is the former Isabel Louise Velez of Santiago, Cuba, where she met her future husband during World War II. In Cuba, she was a member of Orfeon Cuba, a Cuban National Choral Group. She has served as a volunteer at Ohio Valley Medical Center. She is a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and along with her husband is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Francis Society in St. Clairsville.
They are parents of three children. The family includes Rita M. Pinti and her husband, Mark A. of Beavercreek; Louis A. and his wife, Nancy of Portland, Ore., and David A. and his wife, Pamela of Kettering. They have two grandsons, Armando D. in Portland and Christopher D. in Kettering.
