60th wedding anniversary: Lucas

BETHESDA -- Lawrence (Bub) and Mary Lucas will observe their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, March 27.

They were united in marriage March 27, 1948, in Belmont at the home of the bride's parents with the Rev. Clifford G. Bloor officiating.

Lucas is the son of the late Edna and Delbert Lucas. His wife, Mary, is the daughter of the late Leota and Wilson (Buck) Jumps.

They are parents of five children, two daughters, Theresa Starr of Bethesda, Misty (Jerry) Long of Hendersonville, N.C., three sons, Larry James of Dayton, Jackie (Bonnie) of Morristown and Rusty (Mary Ann) of Bethesda.

Lucas is currently in Zanesville Bethesda Hospital recovering from a stroke. Due to his heath there will be a celebration held in their honor later this summer with family and friends.

60th wedding anniversary: Lucas

BOB and Betty Lucas of Beallsville, observed their 60th wedding anniversary on March 15, 2008.

A celebration in their honor is being planned by their children: Nancy of Worthington, Ohio; Toni of Beallsville, Tim of Corinth, Texas, Clint of New Freedom, Pa., Wade of Uniontown, Ohio and Jodi of Pataskala. They also have one son, Bobby, who is deceased; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren complete the family circle.

An open house will be held at their home on Saturday, April 5, from 2 to 5 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
