50th wedding anniversary: Gallagher

Henry and Georgia Gallagher of Barnesville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house on April 19 from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Barnesville Park Youth Center .

Gallagher is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Gallagher and his wife, Georgia, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George McCort. They were married April 19, 1958 at St. John's Catholic Church in Miltonsburg. Monsignors Edward Kakascik, Robert Brown and Cornelius Gallagher were celebrants.

The couple are parents of four children: Linda (Armond) Olsen of Plainville, Ma.; Patti (Alan) Logan of Cambridge; Susan (Russ) Howell of Troy, Mo.; and Scott (Lyn) Gallagher of Barnesville. Grandchildren include Olivia and Ajae Olsen, Nick and Cameron Logan, Sinjon, Declan and Caelan Howell, and Ryan, Kyle and Tiffany Gallagher.

A former Mayor of Barnesville, Henry, was co-owner of East End Garage, Inc. for 48 years. He and Georgia retired from the family business in 1998. Georgia is currently a manicurist at Peg's Parlor in Barnesville.

Following the open house, a mass will be celebrated in the couple's honor at 4 p.m., at the Church of the Assumption, 305 W. Main Street, Barnesville. During the service as they renew their wedding vows their granddaughter, Olivia, will receive her First Holy Communion.

The couple requests no gifts, just the presence of family and friends.
