SHIRLEY and Jim Brothers will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary May 7. They were united in marriage in the Bridgeport First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Solomon Bass officiating May 7, 1958.
Brothers is the son of the late Charles and Irene Brothers. His wife, Shirley, is the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Honey) Brown.
They have three children, Chuck and wife Marcia of Hinesville, Ga., Rich and wife Lori of Acworth, Ga. and Bonnie of Cincinnati along with two grandchildren, Erin and Keri and three step-grandchildren, Lisa, Joe and Stephanie.
The family is holding an open house in their honor May 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Polish Club in Wolfhurst for all family and friends to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
