50th wedding anniversary: Smith

POWHATAN – Joyce and Mike Smith of Powhatan, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 28. They were united in marriage on June 28, 1958 at the Nazarene Church in Powhatan with Rev. Walker officiating.

Smith is the son of Vera Heightland of Powhatan and the late Delbert Smith. His wife, Joyce, is the daughter of Nada Boger and the late Clarence “Buster” Boger of Powhatan.

They are the parents of three sons: Michael and his wife, Shannon, Ty and his wife, Sarah, of Powhatan and Bob and his wife, Faye, of Hannibal. They have six grandchildren: Alanna and Brandon, Jennifer and Zachary and Myla and Wesley.

Their children treated them to an out-of-town getaway.

50th wedding anniversary: Smith

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 4. They were united in marriage July 4, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shadyside with Farther Pete Satori officiating.

Smith, son of the late John and Gertrude Smith, is a retired self-employed electrical contractor. His wife Katherine, daughter of the late Ed and Kreszenz Podlosick, is a retired registered nurse.

They are the parents of John E. (Cathie) Smith and have two grandchildren Katie and Luke.

A family celebration will be held at a later date.
