MARTINS FERRY – Charles and Betty Snider will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on July 31. They were united in marriage on July 31, 1948 in Shadyside Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. J. Harold Gwynne, officiating.
Snider, son of the late Louis A. and Alverda Schweitzer Snider, is a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and is a retired elementary principal from the Martins Ferry schools. His wife, Betty, is the daughter of the late Hiram D. and Naomi Hess Hartline and is retired from Holly Memorial Gardens as the secretary.
They are parents of three children: Louis and his wife, Tammie of Erwin, Tenn.; Leslie and her husband, Bill Wither of Columbus and Lynne and her husband, Ray Swicegood of Galloway, Ohio. They have seven grandchildren: Nolan and Cali Jo Snider, Billy (Melissa) and Justin Withers and Kara, Jessica and Jack Swicegood.
