Jacob and Frances Bellville of Powhatan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 9. They were united in marriage Aug. 9, 1958 in St. Clairsville by Minister Orville Wilson.
Bellville is the son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Bellville of Powhatan. His wife, Frances, is the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Gallaher of Powhatan.
They are the parents of five children: Jacob Bellville and his wife, Brenda, of St. Louis, Mo.; Patrick Bellville, and his wife, Lisa, of New Martinsville; Laura Bellville of Powhatan; Michelle Arnold, and her husband, Earl, of Waynesville, Mo. and Mary Caldwell and her husband, Matthew, of Columbus. They have eight grandchildren: Amanda (John) Bisher, Jacob Bellville, Julie Bellville, Kayla Bellville, Abigail Kemp, Emily Kemp, Ethan Harr, Haley Harr and one great-granddaughter, Breelynn Bellville. The couple also has four step-grandchildren: Joshua (Kandi) Loy; Brandi (Patrick) Ferrebee; Alyssa Arnold, Kelsey Arnold and a step-great-grandson, Fin.
The couple’s children held a celebration in their honor on July 12 at the Powhatan VFW Hall.
