Louis (Bud) Rockwell and Helen Rockwell celebrated their golden wedding anniversary July 26. They were married July 26, 1958 in a Quaker ceremony on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. where they were both graduate students.
Rockwell is the son of the late Glenn and Elizabeth Rockwell. He is co-owner and operator of Rockwell Orchards. His wife Helen is the daughter of the late Alvin and Ethel Hadley and is a retired teacher and librarian from Olney Friends School. They are both active in community organization such as Kiwanis, Farm Bureau and Farmers Markets.
They are the parents of Juli Rockwell and Jonathon Rockwell and his wife Marlene, all of Barnesville. They have one granddaughter, Emily Rockwell a sophomore at OSU.
Friends and relatives are invited to a reception for the couple on Sunday, Sept. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Stillwater Friends Meeting House, east of Barnesville.
