MARTINS FERRY – Don and Jean Burkle will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 25. They were united in marriage Sept. 25, 1948 at the First Christian Church in Martins Ferry.
Burkle is the son of the late Edward and Laura Marquardt Burkle and his wife, Jean, is the daughter of the late Edward and Nora Brown Ruckman.
They are the parents of three daughters, Joyce McFarland of Woodbridge, Va., Janet Hart and her husband, Lou, of Wheeling, and Leigh Longenette of Annapolis, Md. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren complete the family.
