BETHESDA – Bill and Dorothy Skaggs celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, Sept. 4. They were married in Galveston, Texas, on Sept. 4, 1943, during World War II while he was a Cadet in the Army Air Corps stationed at Ellington Field, Houston, Texas.

Skaggs is the son of Earl and Ruth Skaggs and his wife, Dorothy, is the daughter of Pete and Hazel Kemp.

The couple has three children, Rev. Richard Skaggs, assistant rector at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Wheeling; a daughter, Jane Woollard and her husband, Richard, of Bethesda, and a son, Jay Skaggs, who owns and operates a medical courier service in Ashtabula, Ohio. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, complete the family.

The couple will be joined by their family to commemorate the occasion.
