BRIDGEPORT – Francis Linden and Helen Joyce McBride are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary today, Sept. 19. They were united in marriage on Sept. 19, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wolfhurst with the Rev. Patrick V. Mayer officiating. They renewed their vows on Jan. 14, 1984 at Christian Faith Fellowship.

McBride is the son of the late Katherine Jane McBride and is a retired letter carrier from the U.S. Post Office in Wheeling.

His wife, Helen, is the daughter of the late James Woodrow Bleen Sr., and Helen Bleen, Sr. She was the head billing clerk in Horne’s Department Store in Wheeling. They attend Faith Fellowship Church in Bellaire.

They have two children: a daughter, Sherri Lynn McBride of Cannonsburg, Pa., and a son, Sean Michael McBride of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two granddaughters: Stephanie Nicole Nardone and Danielle Brianne Jeffers, and two great-granddaughters, Brianne Lynn and Noelle.

A celebration will be held in their honor.
