WALTER “Sunny” and Anita Smigill celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on Sept. 15. They were united in marriage in the First United Methodist Church, Bellaire, by The Rev. George Fisher and in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church by Monsignor Paul Metzger.

Smigill is the son of the late Walter E. and Mary Smigill from Powhatan Point. He was a retired surveyor from North American Coal and recently retired from Bellaire Schools as their transportation supervisor.

His wife, Anita, is the daughter of the late Umberto “Pete” and Mary J. Masciarelli from Bellaire. She retired from Big Bear Stores and the Village of Bellaire and just recently retired from Belmont Carson Petroleum.

They are the parents of one son, Charles “Buddy” (Diana) Tucker and grandparents of Hayley and Eli Tucker of Wheeling.

The couple celebrated the occasion by vacationing with their family in Pine Knoll Shores, N.C.
