EBERHART: 50th wedding anniversary

BARNESVILLE – Donald W. and Cheryl E. Eberhart celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 17. They were united in marriage on Oct. 17, 1964, at the Flushing Christian Church, Flushing, with the Rev. William Worcester II officiating.

Eberhart is the son of the late Clarence and Josephine Eberhart of Flushing. For many years, he managed Carnes Mobile Home and Appliance in Barnesville, and retired in 2009 from United Refrigeration in Wheeling. He is currently the minister of the Centerville Christian Church and an Elder at the First Christian Church in Barnesville where he remains actively involved.

His wife, Cheryl, is the daughter of the late Ed and Avis Carnes of Flushing. She was a bookkeeper at the First National Bank in Barnesville for two decades and retired from Wesbanco’s loan operations in Wheeling in 2013 after nearly 33 years of combined service. She has also been the organist and music director for the First Christian Church in Barnesville since 1969.

They have three children and 10 grandchildren: daughter Denise Leeka, and husband, Mike, of Hilliard, Ohio (Zachary, Luke, Ryan and Chandler); daughter Darla Holliday, and husband, J.B., of Barnesville (Orion, Holly, Austin and Jonah); son Ed Eberhart, and wife, Heather, of Barnesville (Anna and Ben).

They celebrated with a cruise up the New England coast to Nova Scotia, Canada. An open house celebration was held for family and friends on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the First Christian Church in Barnesville.
