John and Patty Phillips are celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary today, Nov. 21. They were married Nov. 21, 1979 in the Washington D.C. LDS temple.

Phillips is the son of Lorraine Phillips and the late Robert Phillips. He is employed at American Energy Corporation and is the Fire Chief of Smith Twp. VFD.

His wife, Patty, is the daughter of Henry and Frances Saunders. She is employed at Stonebraker’s Garage and is the Squad Capt. of Smith Twp. VFD. They attend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sherrard, where they have both served in various callings.

They are the parents of John (Annie) Phillips and Sarah (Brian) Martin. They have four grandchildren: McKayla, Emelyne, Briar and Cooper.

They celebrated with a trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., The Great Smoky Mountains and Georgia. They will have a family dinner with their children to celebrate.
