WALT AND Janie Bober celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 30. The couple was united in marriage on Jan. 30, 1965, at St. Michael’s Church in Wheeling.

Bober is the son of the late Walter and Amelia Bober and is retired from Bell Atlantic and FedEx.

His wife, Janie, is the daughter of the late Herb and Dolores Christ. She is retired from the office of Dr. Don Lough.

Their family includes three children: Michael (Tara) of Hilliard, Ohio; Patrick (Tracie) of Westerville, Ohio; and Jennifer (Chad) of Roswell, Ga.; five grandsons complete the family: Cullen, Griffin, Cameron, Trent and Drew.

The couple celebrated with a surprise family weekend in the Smokey Mountains.
