WOODSFIELD – Richard and Nancy Schenk of Woodsfield are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, March 13. They were united in marriage on March 13, 1965, at Rock Hill Presbyterian Church by the late Rev. James Kocsis. The bride’s sister, Wanda Rude, and her brother-in-law, Thom Rude, served as attendants.

Schenk is the son of the late Joseph and Olive Schenk and is a retired administrator from Switzerland of Ohio Schools and also a teacher from St. Sylvester Central Elementary.

His wife, Nancy, is the daughter of the late Ross and Waneda Kleyman and is a retired secretary from St. Sylvester Central Elementary School.

They are the parents of two children: Dr. Eric Schenk and his wife, Melissa, of Rockport, Maine and Erin Allen and her husband, Scott, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; four grandchildren: Tyler Frederick, Lauren, Benjamin and Daniel Schenk.

The couple will renew their vows at St. Sylvester Church in Woodsfield today with Father David Gaydosik officiating. A celebration will be held at a later date with family and friends.
