John and Joyce Aleva of Allen Park, Mich., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were united in marriage Sept. 11, 1965, at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Barton by Father Rotolo.

John is the son of the late John and Irene Aleva of Crescent. He is a retired millwright from the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Mich. His wife, Joyce, is the daughter of the late Steve and Sophia Gretchen of Crescent. She is a retired nurse and homemaker.

They are the parents of four children: John (Carmen) Aleva of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Renee (Paul) Metropoulos of Allen Park, Mich.; Bryan (Lisa) Aleva of Canton, Mich.; and Charlene (Ricardo) Danich of Allen Park, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren: Nick, Alex, Frank and Jack Aleva; Justin and Lucas Metropoulos; Jacob, Joshua and Matthew Aleva; Ava, Amelia and Aric Danich.

The couple celebrated with a party at Wilson Lodge, Oglebay Park on Sept. 6.
