Fred and Cathy, of Jacobsburg, are celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary today, Oct. 17. They were united in marriage Oct. 17, 1970, in the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Ontario, Calif., by the late Rev. Richard Stepp.

Ramsay is the son of the late Earl and Olive Ramsay. He retired in February 2010 from First Energy, Dilles Bottom. He served six years in the United States Navy. He met Cathy while stationed in Long Beach, Calif.

Cathy is the daughter of the late Gladwin and Carol Minor. They are parents to two children, Brenda and her husband Jared and a grandson Walter Gladwin or Portland, Ore., and Tim of Shadyside.

The couple is celebrating on a trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
