60th wedding anniversary
Homer Sr. and Esther Bennett of Bridgeport celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Feb. 18.
They were united in marriage Feb. 18, 1956, with the late Rev. Joseph Dunbar officiating.
Homer, son of the late Erman Bennett, is a retired pastor of The Assembly of God Churches.
Esther, daughter of the late Edwin and Sarah Worthington, is a homemaker.
They are the parents of two sons, Homer Jr. (the late Joni Bennett) of Barnesville and Erman (Georgeanna) Bennett of Belpre; proud grandparents of Barbie (John) Whiddon, Emily and Kevin Bennett, Kristen (Jacob) Holman, and Daniel Bennett; and they have five great-grandchildren, Jacob Paul and Aiden Holman, Hayli and Ella Whiddon, and Cameron Bennett.
60th wedding anniversary
Edward Alan and Marjorie Crumbaker Hood of Shadyside will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
They were united in marriage on Feb. 24, 1956, by the Rev. Almgren at Lincoln Avenue Methodist Church in Shadyside.
Marjorie Hood is the daughter of the late Charles and Ruby Crumbaker of Shadyside. She is a homemaker and was previously an employee of Stone & Thomas and Dr. L.W. Long.
Alan Crumbaker is the son of the late Manley and Helen Hood of Martins Ferry. He is retired from CONSOL Energy.
They are the parents of two daughters, Robin (Joseph) Spivla of Narrangansett, R.I., and Leslie (Dwayne) Pielech of Shadyside.
They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
60th wedding anniversary
Willard and Nellie Bilyeu were married Feb. 11, 1956, and are celebrating 60 years of marriage. Willard and Nellie (Earliwine) grew up near Centerville-Jacobsburg and raised their three children there.
Willard is a retired semi-truck driver for Roadway Express and president of Teamsters Local 413. He is co-owner of R&R CB Radios and Electronics. Nellie was homemaker and mother to three children. Their three children and grandchildren are Sondra and Charles Foster, Gary and Angie Bilyeu, Nicholas and Lacy, and Judy Bilyeu.
To celebrate, a family dinner is planned this week and a party in the summer.
