Dietrich 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. John Dietrich II are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were united in marriage on Oct. 22, 1966, by the Rev. Russell Gilmore at First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville. Richard Dietrich was best man and Marilyn Pubal was maid of honor.
Shirley is the daughter of the late Robert and Anna Phillips of Warnock. She has one brother, Robert (Francis) and one sister, Sara (Richard) and many beloved nieces and nephews. John is the son of the late John and Dorothy Dietrich of Tiltonsville. They are the parents of two sons, John III (Cindy) of Richmond, Va., and James (fiance Heidi) of Rayland. They have four grandchildren, Amanda, John IV, Joshua and Jessica.
John and Shirley have served on several civic and community organizations. John served on the Tiltonsville Village Council and Water Board. He is also a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, the Bridgeport Lodge and the Tiltonsville Volunteer Fire Department. Shirley is active with the Tiltonsville United Methodist Church, and is a member of the Ohio Valley Community Choir and also serves on the TVFD Ladies Auxiliary. They are both members of Eastern Star and are Ohio State Buckeye fans.
John worked for 16 years at Ohio Ferro Alloy Corporation and then retired from American Electric Power in 2003 after 27 years. Shirley was a homemaker until their sons left for the U.S. Navy and then worked for Yorkville Plant Federal Credit Union.
A luncheon in their honor has been planned for Oct. 22.
