George and Barbara Roberts of Martins Ferry celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were united in marriage on Sept. 29, 1956, at St. Alphonsus Church in Wheeling.

George is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh O. Roberts of Wheeling. He served in the U.S. Navy and is retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel at the Martins Ferry Plant. His wife Barbara is the daughter of the late Edward Anthony of Wheeling, and the late Lena Gaul of Bridgeport.

They are the parents of two children Sharon (Tom) Bovalina of McMurray, Pa., and Bob (Karry) Roberts of Commerce Township, Mich. They also have four grandchildren: Collin and Corey Bovalina and Aubrey and Kaylee Roberts, and one great-granddaughter, Emersyn Bovalina.

The couple plans a family celebration.
