Mr. & Mrs. George Wees

Mr. and Mrs. George Fred Wees of Belmont celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 7. A celebration with family and friends is being planned for April 2017.

Fred and Sandra grew up in Belmont, attending Union Local High School together. Since getting married, Fred and Sandra’s early adventures took them many places. They were owner-operators of Wees Drive Inn Restaurant and The Blue Spruce Gift Shop in Belmont. Fred’s job with NCR Cambridge later took them to Atlanta, Ga., where Fred retired from NCR in 2003. Since 2012 they have relocated back home to Belmont.

Fred and Sandra have two children: George Shane Wees (Becky) of Bethesda and Stacie Wees Pohlman (Chris) of Satellite Beach, Fla. They have four grandchildren, Hunter and Bella Wees of Bethesda and Noah and Jonah Pohlman of Satellite Beach, Fla.
