Paula and M. Luella Pickens will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on April 10. They were united in marriage in the bride’s home with Harold Lee officiating on April 10, 1947.

Pickens is the son of the late Elmer and Bessie Pickens. His wife, M. Luella, is the daughter of the late James and Mary Murdock. They are retired dairy farmers and members of the Scotch Ridge Presbyterian Church.

They have four children, Kenneth and his wife Mary of Trumansburg, N.Y., Dean and his wife Marsha of Ithaca, N.Y., Bruce of Martins Ferry and Jean Merriman and her husband David of Martins Ferry. They also have seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A family dinner celebration will be held in their honor on April 15 hosted by their children.
