Mr. and Mrs. Harold “Bill” Thompson, Jr. are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. They were united in marriage on June 18, 1967, at the Morristown Methodist Church, with the late Rev. Rondal Hardman officiating.

Bill is the son of the late Harold and Helen Thompson and stepson of Dolores Thompson of Johnstown, Ohio. He is retired from Preston Contractors of Preston, W.Va. His wife, the former Carma Matis, is the daughter of the late George and Geraldine Matis and stepdaughter of Jess Ostrander of Moundsville, W.Va. Bill and Carma were the owners of the former “The Racing Connection” in St. Clairsville.

They are parents of two sons, Scott and his wife Heather who reside in The Plains, Ohio, and Aaron and his wife Nicole who reside in Akron. They have five grandchildren, Colter, Tyler and Kylee of The Plains and Jason and Mary of Akron.
