James and Marsha Chrisagis of Yorkville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday.

They were married July 8, 1967, at St. Joseph Church, Tiltonsville, by the late Rev. Connie Superfisky.

Jim is the son of the late Genevieve Plewniak and the late Zack Chrisagis. Marsha’s parents are Josephine Blaskovich and the late Robert Schuster.

Jim is a retired school teacher who worked in the public schools system for 31 years and then continued as a technology coordinator for five Catholic schools in Belmont County for 14 years. Marsha was also a teacher at St. John Central High School for 10 years.

They are the parents of a daughter, Ximena, who resides in Fairborn, Ohio, and a son, Zacari (Heidi) of Shadyside.

The couple received a special blessing from the Very Rev. William D. Cross during today’s Sunday Mass at St. Joseph Church.
