50th wedding anniversary

Tom and Linda Schell of Venice, Florida, and formerly of St. Clairsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 21 with some friends. The Schells are scheduled for a cruise to Cuba in November as part of their celebration.

They were married at St. Edward’s Church in Youngstown in a 6 p.m. ceremony. The Schells met at Youngstown State University in a public relations class.

Tom worked as a field manager with The Ford Motor Credit Co., was general manager with Doan Ford Lincoln Mercury and he and Linda owned and operated Tom Schell Motors in St. Clairsville specializing in Antique and Classic cars. Tom recently retired from Home Depot as an appliance salesman.

Linda retired in 2013 from AAA auto club south in Venice and Sarasota as a membership representative and now devotes her time to writing children’s books. Her latest is “A Key West Story” adding to her three previous books in the Gracie Series. The Schells have a son, Ryan, who also resides in Venice.

Tom and Linda now plan on relaxing and traveling at their leisure and of course Linda will continue writing her childrens books.
