On Sept. 1, 1973, George and Angie Laase of Martins Ferry were united in marriage by the Rev. Niler Southwick at First Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry.

Angie is the daughter of the late John and Helen Guka. George is the son of George and Marge Laase.

They have a daughter, Carrie (Anthony) Whitehead, and a son, George III (Jesse); four grandchildren: Rachel and Tori Whitehead and Rhett and Isabella Laase. The couple will have a 50th anniversary celebration at a later date.
