Judy Bateman of Hilliard, Ohio and John Bateman of Lewis Center, Ohio announce the engagement of their daughter, Lisa Michelle Bateman to Kevin Leo Welsh, son of Michael and Cassandra Welsh of St. Clairsville.
The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Hilliard High School and 2002 graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor of science degree in hearing, speech and language sciences. She received a master of education in early childhood special education from Ohio University in 2003. She is employed as an early intervention teacher at The Childhood League Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Her fiance is a 1997 graduate of St. Clairsville High School. He is a 2003 graduate of Ohio University where he earned a bachelor of specialized studies degree in vocal and theater performance. He is employed as the marketing and community relations coordinator of Columbus West Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, he performs with Opera Columbus and is the national anthem singer for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
A Dec. 22 wedding is planned at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Wheeling. A dinner reception is to follow at White Palace, Wheeling Park.
