Susan Apicella of Shadyside announces the engagement of her son, Brian Apicella to Avegail Flores, daughter of Albert and Mara Flores of Los Angeles, Calif.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Manila Science High School, Manila, Phillipines. She obtained a bachelor of science in neuroscience and molecular biology from UCLA and a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a doctor of internal medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, Calif.
Her fiance is a 1991 graduate of Shadyside High School. He received a bachelor of arts in classics from The Ohio State University and a master of arts in philosophy from Duquesne University. He is a doctoral candidate in classics at UCLA while employed by the university.
A September wedding is planned.
