John and Cheryl Figurski of Adena announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Renee Figurski to James Thomas Brown, son of Brenda Brown of Columbus.
The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Buckeye Local High School and a 2005 graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She attended Muskingum College where she earned a degree as an intervention specialist and will return to Muskingum in the fall to continue working towards her master's degree. She is employed by Buckeye Local Schools as a special education teacher.
Her fiance is a 2000 graduate of Buckeye Local High School. He is employed by Wal-Mart Distribution Center, and is a member of the Adena Volunteer Fire Department.
An Aug. 23 wedding is being planned.
