Dava Sommermeyer and Derek Ritchea, together with their families, announce their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of John and Stephanie Sommermeyer of Leonia, N.J. Her fiance is the son of Rick and Teresa Ritchea of Shadyside.

The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Bergen County Academies and a 2006 graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelors degree in business administration. She is currently employed at Lehman Brothers in the Corporate Strategy Group.

Her fiance is a 2000 graduate of Shadyside High School and a 2006 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelors degree in electrical and computer engineering and his master of business administration degree. He is currently employed at Merrill Lynch in New York City as an associate in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group.

A Sept. 20, wedding is planned at The Chanticler in Short Hills, N.J., with a hometown celebration, Nov. 29.
