Ms. Rae Bowman of Bridgeport announces the engagement of her daughter, Whitney Gail Bowman of Raleigh, N.C., to Jeffrey Scott Martin of Knightdale, N.C. Whitney is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Henthorn of Bridgeport.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Bridgeport High School and received her bachelor degree in Sport Sciences from Ohio University, Athens. She received her master’s degree in occupational therapy at the University of Indianapolis, Indianapolis, Ind., and is currently employed in Chapel Hill, N.C., as an occupational therapist.
Her fiance is a graduate of East Wake High School in Wendell, N.C. and is also a graduate of Johnston Community College Law Enforcement Program and works for Wake County Sheriff’s Department in Raleigh, N.C., as a deputy sheriff.
A Nov. 29 wedding is planned in Bethlehem Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C.
