John Beck and Lori Curtis, together with their parents, announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Michael and Mary Ellen Curtis of Shadyside. She is a 1997 graduate of Shadyside High School and a 2001 graduate of Ohio University with a degree in elementary education. She is employed by Martins Ferry City Schools as a fifth grade teacher.
Her fiance is the son of Sharon Beck of Martins Ferry and the late Herbert Beck. He is a 1994 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and is employed by JAK Productions in Wheeling.
An Aug. 1 wedding is being planned.
