Don Hoard Benefit Concert set for March 29

BRIDGEPORT — A benefit concert for local musician Don “Donnie” Hoard is slated from 1-9 p.m. March 29 at the Skyliner in Bridgeport.

Hoard is facing a serious health challenge and is undergoing treatment. His musical family and friends are coming together for the benefit in his honor.

The benefit will be featuring some of the region’s best talent including: The Catch Blues Band, Robert “Moose” Dodrill, Bob Gaudio, Jule Carenbauer, MSM, Bill Gorby and the Musical Mercenaries, the 11/70 Band, Nikki Fleming, JoAnn Jones Copeland and Hoard and Jones.

There will be two stages with continuous music all day. Food and beverages will be available. There will be auctions including a signed Fender Brad Paisley Telecaster (with case, guitar picks and a signed picture) with a McVay G Bender (courtesy of C.A. House Music and Charlie McVay). Sound provided by Bill Graham and BG Audio. There is a cost per person.

Roger and Don Hoard, Dennis Fitzpatrick and Jamie Peck formed The Other Brothers in 1982. They have performed all over the Ohio Valley, the Grand Ole Opry, Jamboree In The Hills and became the Jamboree USA Staff band in 1984. They were regional winners of the Seagrams 7 Battle of the Bands and performed at the finals in Nashville. Donnie Hoard was a master showman singing the lead vocals and driving the band on the drums. He was later a featured drummer and performer on the Wheeling Jamboree.
