Duvall family named Conservationist of the Year

BARNESVILLE — Every year the Belmont County Soil and Water Conservation District awards a Belmont County landowner the Conservationist of the Year Award.

This award goes to an organization or landowner that both follows the district’s mission to promote and protect the wise use of our natural resources as well as cooperates with them to help them fulfill this mission.

This year the Belmont SWCD has granted this award to the family of Ron and Marisa Duvall. The Duvalls have lived on their family farm for five years now but it has been in the family for much longer.

Their children, Jenna and Ronnie, are the fifth generation to farm the 100 acres north of Barnesville that they call home.

They raise sheep commercially but also have an array of other animals and fair projects including pigs, feeder calves, chickens, goats, a miniature horse and a donkey.
