ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Members of the St. Clairsville High School “Red Devil” Marching Band are no strangers to the competition field. However, recently they made school history.
The band performed at two competitions and earned the title of Grand Champion at both.
The band first traveled to the Marietta Band-O-Rama held at Marietta College’s Don Drumm field.
The band finished first in their respective class (based on school size) but also won overall (regardless of class) best visuals, best General effect, best auxiliary, and overall best band, Grand Champions.
The band then traveled a few miles down the road to Vincent, Ohio, at the brand new facilities of Warren Local High School.
The final awards were split between small school and big school.
The “Red Devil” Band performed their show for the second time, a show titled “You’re Invited” that follows a storyline of the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.
The band finished with overall best music, best General effect, best auxiliary, and another Grand Champion trophy.
It was a historic day for the hard working young musicians of the St. Clairsville Band. People can catch this highly entertaining and award winning show at one of the bands next competitions: at Meadowbrook High School on Oct. 15 and at New Philadelphia on Oct. 22.
The band has qualified to perform at the state marching finals on Nov. 5 held at Medina High School.
Follow the band on social media for performance times.
