Final show for Christmas with the Stars

The Chrisagis Brothers

WHEELING — Hollywood personalities will help Brian Chrisagis honor the memory of his twin brother Shawn with this year’s production of Christmas with the Stars.

The Chrisagis Brothers were in full swing planning for this event when Shawn Chrisagis suddenly died of a heart attack or blood clot at 55 years old.

“This left Brian in a huge depression and grief trying to find his way in his life and ministry,” a release about the program states. “In walks some of the Chrisagis Brothers’ best friends from Hollywood who said they wanted to help honor Shawn and love on Brian by fulfilling this dream.”

This lineup includes:

∫ Erik Estrada, star of “CHiPs” and longtime friend of the Chrisagis Brothers. He starred in “The Cross and the Switchblade” and several other Christian films. In real life, he is a Christian and police officer.

∫ Stefanie Powers from TV’s “Hart to Hart” and “The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.” She starred in classic films like “McClintock” with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara and “Die, Die my Darling.” She is a believer and overcame lung cancer.

≤ Lorenzo Lamas from “Falcon Crest” and “Renegade.” He hails from a family of actors that includes Fernado Lamas, Arlene Dahl and Esther Williams. He is a Christian as well and will be sharing his faith and honoring veterans.

≤ Jack Scalia from “Dallas” and his Emmy award-winning role of Chris Stamp in “All My Children.” He was also in “Remington Steele” and in TV movies, miniseries and feature films like “Red Eye.” He has been a longtime friend of the Chrisagis Brothers and instantly stepped into co-hosting the event with Brian Chrisagis so he won’t be alone on stage. According to the release, he came to his faith through the brothers’ ministry.

≤ John Berry, award-winning country artist, who will sing several songs and share testimony. He has two gold albums and one platinum plus 20 studio albums.

≤ Catherine Hickland from “One Life to Live” and “Knight Rider” will perform. She has been a longtime friend to the Chrisagis Brothers and wanted to step in and show her support and pay tribute to Shawn in music. A longtime Christian, she is married to Todd Fisher, the son of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher.

≤ Rob Mayes, who has been in numerous Hallmark and Lifetime Television movies. He is a country singer who will join in saluting veterans and perform Christmas songs.

≤ Max Winfrey from “America’s Got Talent” has been on Huckabee and other Christian TV shows. He will be doing comedy and a stunt show.

Local singers such as Mark Statler, Jo Ann Copeland and Nikki Fleming will join the fun along with musicians Roger Hoard, Jamie Peck and Rick Witkowski.

According to the release, this will be the final year for Christmas with the Stars, held in honor of Shawn Chrisagis. Net proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association in Shawn’s memory.

A meet and greet will be held at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 11. Doors open for the event at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m.
