Help available to quit smoking in Monroe County

WOODSFIELD — Monroe County Health Department’s Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Program Coordinator Carol Hehr has been promoting the statewide campaign “You’ll Thank You.”

This campaign promotes the Ohio tobacco quit line, a free cessation service for all Ohioans.

“The good news is that you don’t have to walk this quit journey alone,” Hehr said.

Research shows smokers trying to quit have better long-term quitting success if they get help quitting.

The Ohio Tobacco Quit Line’s free service provides quit assistance by calling 800-784-8669 or visiting ohio.quitlogix.org to enroll for free counseling with a trained quit coach available 24/7. You can also choose to receive free nicotine replacement therapy such as patches, gum or lozenges to help you through cravings.

“You’ll thank you at the end of your quit journey,” a release from the department notes.
