Heritage Ohio to present Downtown Revitalization Workshop in Westerville

Quarterly workshops are part of the Ohio Main Street preservation program

COLUMBUS — On June 11, Heritage Ohio, in partnership with Uptown Westerville Inc., will present a day-long workshop on downtown revitalization, community development and economic development, as part of the quarterly Ohio Main Street Revitalization Series Workshop.

Each workshop is hosted by an accredited Ohio Main Street Program community. The workshop, Community Collaborations for Downtown Transformations, will be held at The Old Bag of Nails Pub, Westerville, 24 N. State Street #26, Westerville, Ohio. The workshop is open to anyone to attend. Pre-registration is required, and more information can be found at shorturl.at/4PIhu or at www.heritageohio.org.

The agenda for the workshop is as follows:

9 a.m. Registration opens

9:30 a.m. Welcome

10 a.m. Great Places in Ohio Panel – This panel will delve into the workings of public-private partnership and how they can create powerful synergies to transform your downtown.

11:30 a.m. Lunch on your own in Uptown Westerville

1 p.m. DORAs, Temporary Liquor Permits, & Liquor Licensing – Emily Redman, Ohio Division of Liquor Control

2:45 p.m. Historic Preservation as a Downtown Design Strategy – Frank Quinn – An introduction to utilizing historic preservation as the guide to your overall design strategy in your downtown. Frank Quinn, director of preservation, and Mr. Muddle will take you through the history of an average downtown commercial block and what you can do about some questionable choices by previous owners.

4 p.m. A Guide to Google Reviews – Janet Hurn – Part of our ongoing Grow with Google presentations, learn the value of interacting with your patrons through your Google listing, how to respond to reviews, and what to do if you disagree with a customer’s review.

5 p.m. Networking at Jimmy V’s Grill & Pub – Join your revitalization and preservation peers from 5-7 p.m. at Jimmy V’ s Grill & Pub (1 S. State Street)
