Night at the Museum program features author Karen Jacobs Tellep

BARNESVILLE — Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum invites the public to attend a 6 p.m. Monday talk by Karen Jacobs Tellep, author of “Just Billy” and sister of artist Billy Jacobs.

Tellep will be sharing her memories and stories about her late brother.

He started his career in the country gift industry in the early 1980s as a wood crafter and designer, transitioning to painting in the 2000s.

He became known for his folksy, primitive style and depiction of the rural American countryside.

Jacobs specialized in landscape and still life scenes, using a variety of mediums.

His inspiration came from life experiences and specific scenes or buildings. His art gallery is located in Navarre, Ohio.

Tellep will sign her book “Just Billy,” which will be available. Admission is free for this event.

Tellep’s book talk and signing is the first event in the Night at the Museum Series, which the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum will be sponsoring throughout the summer months.

Future events include Linda F. Robertson on June 3, John Boilegh on July 1 and Chris Graham in August.
