The Castle hosts ‘Coming Alive’ on Aug. 31 at Mound Cemetery

ARIETTA, Ohio — The Castle museum, 418 Fourth Street, Marietta, will host Coming Alive at Mound Cemetery on Aug. 31.

The tour is scheduled for 10 a.m.

This year’s Coming Alive cemetery tour features a return to Mound Cemetery, but new characters.

Each year the Coming Alive tour brings to life several interesting individuals buried in local cemeteries through living history interpreters.

These interpreters give voice to the day-to-day life, extraordinary events or intriguing connections throughout the cemetery.

Attendees will be able to listen to historical accounts, ask questions and walk away with a deeper understanding of local history.

Tickets can be purchased online at or by visiting The Castle’s Carriage House during open hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday.

The tour begins at Mound Cemetery, located at Fifth and Scammel, in Marietta, Ohio. The tour guide will use an enhanced speaker system to ensure adequate audio levels.
