Boutique opens in Shadyside
SHADYSIDE — The 2 Sisters Boutique is now open in Shadyside next to the Shadyside Flower Shop.
The boutique opened in late November with Bobbi Jo Kinemond and Missy Duffy as the owners. Kinemond owns the flower shop on one side of the store building, but the sisters decided to open a boutique on the other side.
Duffy and Kinemond said they’ve always talked about opening a boutique, and Duffy encouraged Kinemond to do it and said she’d do it with her.
People can buy items such as women’s clothes, jewelry, jeans and purses. All sizes are available from small to plus size. People can also expect shoes to make their way to the shop in the spring.
“It’s a change for Shadyside,” Duffy said. “I think we kind of just wanted to bring something into town that we don’t have. A lot of people have been really excited about it.”
They wanted to try something new and bring it to Shadyside with the departure of the Bird’s Nest, an upscale consignment store carrying name brand children’s, men’s women’s, juniors and maternity clothing. It relocated to Bridgeport.
Holiday hours for 2 Sisters are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
In January, times will go to regular hours, which are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday and Saturday.
Duffy and Kinemond hope people come in and buy featured one-of-a-kind items, as sometimes they only order one size of each, so only some people will be able to buy that item.
The prices for the items are mostly below $50 with a few items over $60. Duffy and Kinemond want to make the boutique affordable, they said.
Duffy and Kindmond use an online distributor to buy items for the boutique.
The Shadyside Flower Shop opened in 1987 with Kinemond as the third generation owner. Now, the shop has a companion business.
